Marie walked into the square, tucking her flyaway hair beneath her bonnet as she went. She much prefered the excercise of a brisk morning walk to the confinements of a carraige, and, though riding Pierre was always enjoyable, she did often feel the need to stretch her own two feet.
She blushed and smiled as a gentleman she didn't know raised his hat in welcome, but he did not introduce himself, and so she busied herself with the study of the fountain that stood -rather majestically- in the center of the square. She walked slowly over to it, sat, and absentmindedly made ripples in the cool water with her pale fingers, tilting her head to one side in thought.
As she hummed to herself she noticed another figure sitting on the other side of the basin's wide rim, and craned her neck slightly to look.

OOC: I'm actually gonna use Alice ^^;; She needs some friends, and Ali is a country boy in any case.
BIC:
Alice sat queitly her hands in her lap. She was here on a day off, and her younger siblings now played in the square before her. A light smile lit her lips as her younger sister came back and Alice pulled her gently aside to redo the small girl's braid. It was good to be caring about her own family... instead of the one that paid her.

Ooc: Aww, are you sure? It would have been sweet if Marie and Ali got together.

Ooc: Hehe alright Bic: Isodel caught the eye of the girl sitting on the other side of the fountain and smiled shyly. She hadn't made any friends in town, the ones she had known in her childhood having either moved, married, or simply faded away; and she had lost some of her natural confidence. She still had enough to get her by, though, and she waited a moment before adressing her. "I've never really been able to braid hair that well." she remarked, tilting her head to one side. "My own I can plait quite easily, since that is what I was taught to do; but I've never been given the opportunity to do it to someone else. You are very lucky to have the company of such wonderful sisters."

Alice blinked, mildly suprised. But it was the little girl that spoke first. "She braids my hair when ever she comes home!" She cried gleefully, "And she's teaching me to braid as well!"
Alice smiled slightly, and nodded. "And you do well." She whispered.

Marie laughed. "I'm sure you will be much better at it than I am." she looked back up at Alice and blushed a little. "Forgive me for being forward, but I'm not one to pass up the opportunity of a useful introduction. Marie Olivier." She gave a strangely graceful half-curtsey and smiled.

Alice blinked, then nodded. The little girl crawled into her older sisiter's lap, deciding that she could speak for both of them. "This is my sister Alice, and I'm Cecelia."

"What beautiful names!" Marie laughed. "I was blessed with one of the most boring in all of France. I could almost be jealous of you for having such a lovely title. I would ask you your age, Cecilia, but I fear that I may insult you- one is not accustomed to asking the age of very much grown up young women."

Alice smiled, pleased that the woman was showing her sister such kindness. Cecelia grinned and held up her fingers, "I'm four." She announed proudly.
Some of the other siblings had noticed the company now, and were coming over o stand beside their sisters.

"That much!" she cried, laughing. "I was nowhere near that clever when I was four. I should be ashamed of myself, shouldn't I?" She returned Alice's smile and turned, grandly, to the other children that were inching closer. "Oh, but you're all beautiful! Oh, that I looked that well when I was young! What are you all playing, then? I would love to see your game."
She loved children, and being near them made her walk even more enjoyable. She smiled encouragingly as they started to talk back to her.

There were four girls, including Alice and Cecelia, and one boy all of various ages. The two youngest pulled Marie out to the squae, and showed her their game of throwing pebbles on a pattern, and then jumping to the square.
"See!" Cecelia said, as she demonstated.
Alice stood behind her siblings, smiling.
OOC: Btw, their playing hopscotch, and yes ^^ Alice is very shy.

Isodel deliberately didn't aim the stone at the farthest square, knowing that the children couldn't get their pebbles to go that far. Instead she threw it approximately where Cecilia's had landed, and hopped laughingly after her.
"I remember this game." she smiled, watching them carry on. Her speech was directed at Alice, who -as she had noticed- was quite shy. "My friends used to play it with me. It must be tiring to have this activity around all the time, but very gratifying."
(( Hehe aww ))

Alice smiled, and nodded. "They are a noisy bunch."
Cecelia piped up. "Alice dosn't live with us, she's a house maid for a rich man."

Marie sighed a little. "It's understandable. They must miss your company very dearly. I have no siblings, but I know I would hate to leave them- no matter for how long. You must come to visit me whenever you can." she added, smiling. "With Cecelia, and the others. I would love to spend time with you."
